Lake Baikal Cruise: Listvyanka – Chivyrkuy Bay

The tour program:

Bus transfer from Irkutsk to Listvyanka settlement located on the shore of Baikal (65 km). Boarding a tourist vessel for a cruise on Lake Baikal.
   
Arrival in Bolshoye Goloustnoye village, optionally – 1 hour stop for walking around the village. Lunch on board.
In the afternoon you will reach the Sandy Bay – one of the most famous and scenic places on the lake, where one can see the so-called “wandering” trees. Walking tour around the cove.
  
From here you may have trekking to the Sennaya Cove (5 km). Optionally – fishing. Russian banya (steam bath) in the cove – for extra charge.

Dinner and overnight on board.
Early in the morning the ship will head to the legendary Olkhon Island (approx. time en route – 8 hours). Breakfast on board.

Depending on the weather, you may have a stop at Tsagan-Zaba cliff to see the ancient petroglyphs. Lunch on board.

In the afternoon you will cross the stories Olkhon Gate Strait, lying between the island and mainland. On the way you will see both the Maloye (Lesser) and the Bolshoye (Larger) Seas – two parts of Baikal separated by Olkhon. Stop in Mukhor Bay – the warmest bay of the Maloye Sea. Time for bathing.

Dinner and overnight on board.
After breakfast on board you will have a stop at Ogoy Island with a Buddhist shrine – the Sacred Stupa. Lunch on board.

Trip on the Maloye Sea to its northern edge – Khoboy Cape (northernmost point of Olkhon).

Dinner and overnight on board.
Breakfast on board. Cruise on the Bolshoye Sea to the well-known Ushkanyi Isles – habitat of the Baikal Seal – the world’s only fresh-water seal.

Optionally, for extra charge (the National Park’s allowance fee) you may have a walk here. Lunch on board. Meanwhile, the ship will set off to the Chivyrkuy Bay.

Dinner and overnight on board.
Breakfast on board. Time at leisure in the bay. Bathingm fishing and soaking in the hot spring of the Snakes’ Cove.

Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.
Breakfast on board. Trip from the Chivyrkuy Bay to Sosnovka location (the Shumilikha River).

Return to the Bay. Lunch, dinner and overnight on board.

Way back to Listvyanka. Meals and overnight on board.
Meals on board. In the evening – arrival at Listvyanka. Transfer to Irkutsk.
